This weekend we were reminded that if there was ever a time to be a music fan - that time is NOW! Inside Pop has all the highlights, hits and misses from Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards! Beyonce, Britney, Rihanna and Kanye all ruled the record breaking night. We also have a report from Afropunk Fest Brooklyn - the most soul stirring, fashion forward, freak flag waving music festival of the summer with amazing performances from Janelle Monae, TV on the Radio, Roman GianArthur, CeeLo Green and more! Plus - we review the latest Big Sell from the Sistah Speak Network, Sistah A's recommendation of the new Guster album, Evermotion.

File this under making up for lost time: This weekend Frank Ocean stopped the world with two digital drops; the visual album Endless and the studio album Blonde; a magazine released in specialty pop up shops and a music video for his song Nikes. Has it all been worth the wait? We share our review. Plus - does The Get Down have what it takes to be Netflix's next binge-worthy hit? We tell you whether you should commit to Baz Luhrman's historic hip hop pastiche. Plus - we react to the Sistah Speak Big Sell of poet Warsan Shire.

Is it hot in here or is it us? Actually - it's all of the incredibly attractive and fit Olympic athletes flipping and flexing in Rio! We are so very appreciative of their athletic endowments that we've awarded our own medals for favorite #OlympicBaes. From hurdlers to swimmers to fencers, we tell you who you need to ogle before the closing ceremonies. Parental warning: The words 'package,' and 'bulge' are used liberally throughout this segment. Plus, as the summer winds down, we review the movie trailers that have us hyped for Fall - including Rogue One, Moonlight, Hidden Figures and La La Land. Then, our very special guests from the Sistah Speak Podcast Network join us for our biggest Big Sell ever! The amazing podcasters Sistah A, Sistah J, Sistah K and Sistah LM sit down with us for an interview and talk about the everything from the history of Blaxploitation films to the genius of Joss Whedon! And they give us four, count 'em, four Big Sells that will have us busy for the next few weeks!

This week, we're going into the Inside Pop vault! With such a large number of summer binge-worthy series like "Stranger Things," "A Night of," "Unreal" and the upcoming "The Get Down," you may feel like you're at risk of falling behind on the Television everyone's talking about. We feel your pain! Earlier this year we failed to watch "Making a Murderer" when it premiered and were most definitely "Late to the Party." Listen to hear how we manage our TV tardiness. Plus - remember when Joseph Fiennes was cast as Michael Jackson?! Nope - that wasn't a dream! AND mentions of Breaking Bad, The Wire, Prince and this episode is where we discovered the "Discover Weekly" Spotify playlist!

Game of Thrones is ending...wait, what?! This week, we discuss the news from HBO that the hit show is ending after its 8th season and debate whether this is the best or the saddest news of the week. Then, we talk about whether there is an optimum number of seasons for a television series and also whether all TV seasons should be limited to 13 or fewer episodes. We cite some of our favorite shows, Stranger Things, Grey's Anatomy, The Simpsons, The People V. OJ Simpson, and of course Lost, to make our point. Plus, Amita and Sean share the thing they're most excited to see at the Rio Olympics (Hint - it's neither the thrill of victory nor the agony of defeat).
